Laser Tools

  • exhaust fan**  - don't bother with a fume extractor (used one for a year, biggest laser purchase regret!) just vent outside! (we used this to vent out the window)

  • fire extinguisher** - a good thing to have in your house regardless but, especially if you have a machine that is literally burning stuff. the kitchen extinguishers (they are usually white) are best because they will not fully destroy your machine

  • fire blanket** - better safe than sorry

  • neodymium magnets**  - to prevent your materials from moving too much

  • transfer masking tape** - to prevent charring on the surface of your substrate, apply by using a credit card or scraper

  • 3m double sided adhesive** - you can apply this to your blank before you cut it (it’s laser safe) so that you don’t have to use glue to secure your design afterwards

  • thermal labels**  - for mirror alignment

  • lens wipes** - for cleaning your optics

Laser Cutters

  • we own a Full Spectrum Laser Muse 3d, this machine has been mostly good for us. however we have removed the link and our affiliate discount due to their current drama. If we find the company back in good standing, we will return the code to the page.

  • xtool m1 diode - great for starting small (here is a great  M1 tutorial playlist)

  • xtool p2 co2 - this is comparable to the machine we use

  • xtool f1 fiber - this is good for engraving (not cutting) directly on to metal and things that cannot fit inside of a traditional laser bed.

While the Glowforge is the most popular in the hobby craft market, we find their company to have the same flaws as Cricut, so we cannot recommend.

*we are based in the US so most of these companies are US based
