Stickers
We have tested nearly a dozen different sticker papers, here is what we consider the best:
Gwybkq matte sticker paper** - blank on back (for branding or a more professional look) and available in bulk. Many people prefer Online Labels for bulk, but honestly we hated it. They give free samples, try it for yourself!
You may have seen in this in our tutorial we mention Zicoto matte sticker paper is the best quality (but has grids on backing sheet) however it has come to our attention that lately the quality has been off with this brand, so proceed with caution!
Joyeza matte sticker paper - thinnest paper with good print quality (best for those with fussy printers)
HTVront matte sticker paper - We prefer the Gwybkq but in our quality test this was next in line.
Zicoto glossy sticker paper** - best quality but has grids on backing sheet which might be a turn off if you are a seller (we prefer to use matte paper and add glossy laminate on top, but use this glossy sticker for things we put to decorate our packing)
Sublimation Sticker Paper - the only method we have found that makes stickers truly waterproof (they still need to be laminated for UV protection) The one linked is often sold out, but after several tests I have found you can sublimate on this Koala brand Matte or Glossy Laser Sticker Paper and not only does it work, its cheaper than any other brand I’ve tried!)
Oraguard 215 adhesive laminate** - our go to (never try to buy this stuff on amazon, you will always get scammed! however, If you would rather buy something from amazon, this vvivid laminate is a good alternative.) if you want something slightly thinner go with Oraguard 210**. We do not recommend Oraguard 236, it is cheaper for a reason.
Avery self adhesive laminate - most popular, great for beginners and it is easiest to come by
holographic laminates - for those who like a little sparkle
squeegee for applying laminate** - sounds dumb but trust me, its a game changer (watch this video for how to use it) you could also use a felt sided scraper but we like the way the speedball squeegee is as wide as paper.
Foil Accents
WrMK Foil Quill** - We are never big on cricut branded products but the cricut foil tool has to be the worst thing they sell. It is literal TRASH. The Foil Quill yields much better results if you want to draw or write something with a foil accent. The one draw back is its designed to be used in carrier a (where the pens go) vs. carrier b (where the blades go) but in this video she found a way to hack it to work in carrier b.
Heidi Swapp Minc Laminator** - This is a far better method for foiling that doesn’t require a cutting machine at all. It does require a laser printer and toner reactive foil.
here is a good video on the Minc Method.
Magnets
Best Crafts adhesive magnet sheets** - best value (we use these in the magnets we sell)
X-Bet adhesive magnet sheets** - best quality but you cannot get them in bulk packages.
here is a quick tutorial on how we make magnets.
Button Making
WrMK Button Press - the press comes with the 37mm insert (they also sell a starter kit that comes with the 25mm and 58mm)
Extra buttons - the WrMK button refills are incredibly over priced, so we recommend using off brand ones (25mm, 37mm, 58mm). Unfortunately there are no off brand inserts available for the Square or Heart shaped buttons. There are also these cute pocket mirrors available for the 58mm insert that we love!
Best Paper for button making - We do not use the included dies that come with the kits, we use our cricut to do a print then cut of the buttons so they are the exact size.
Paper and Cardstock
130# cardstock** - best stuff for cardmaking, only works with certain printers (we have been successful with this printer and the Epson XP-15000 and the Brother 2370DW)
Seed Paper** - Delicate, beautiful, and good for the environment! (can be cut on a Cricut Maker using the rotary blade and the “handmade paper” setting)
Photo Paper** - We have found this brand to be a good quality and value for glossy photo paper
Clear Path Paper colored cardstock** - 65lb paper that is a great multi-use cardstock
Hamilico 12x12 cardstock** - white cardstock in several different weights, perfect for paper crafts
Paper Source Paper Bar - beautiful colors with matching envelopes for the times you are too lazy to DIY. (PRO TIP: they have 40% off sales 4 times a year, just stock up then)
